This brief was a difficult one. The client's have a growing family and do not want to move house. Therefore they have extended up into the loft area creating another bedroom, lounge and bathroom. The roof had to be altered from hip to gable and a rear dormer was put on to gain better head room and space. An additional stair case was put in over the one they already have. This project would have come under permitted development rights but they also extended sideways so planning permission was necessary. Usually rear dormers, hip to gable roof and internal alterations are PD.
